What to bring
In order to provide you with the best care possible, please bring the following with you to your appointment:
- Your referral from your doctor or specialist, if you have one. You do not require a referral for a routine mammogram.
- The name, address and telephone number of your primary doctor.
- Any relevant medical records as well as any previous breast images you have had and their reports.
- Patient forms (available below)
It is important that you bring any prior breast images and reports with you to your appointment as they are necessary for comparison to identify changes in your breast tissue. If these scans were not done at The Breast Care and Bone Density Centre you will need to make arrangements to obtain the images and reports from the facility at which they were performed. You can have the images sent to us directly or bring them with you.

On the day of your mammogram
Preferably wear a two-piece outfit so you only have to remove your top.
Do not use deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under your arms or your breasts. These products can show up on the mammogram and be mistaken for abnormalities.
